Stereotyping the Over Achiever Can Be a Huge Task in Itself
We find in human civilizations that no one likes to be stereotyped, each individual would like to be considered an individual that is meaningful and worthy. Still the individuals do self classify themselves based on their ideals and nurturing.
Thus, some stereotyping is brought on by the individual's behavior, attitude and purposeful presentation. So, let me give you an example of problems with stereotyping and lets talk about me, since I know me and can use me as an example to explain this to you.
Well, about me, what has Lance been doing during his life experience of 40 years? Well, Hmm, I am planning a bicycle ride thru your state, from Canada to Mexico and then another one from San Diego to Virginia Beach, VA; picked up a carbon ten-speed today for the ride. Currently, I am acquiring knowledge at unheard of rates in case I am needed in the future to solve the challenges that mankind has created and continually creates in our civilizations. I am the offspring of one hell of a genetic line of history, a blessing and a curse, probably explains a little bit.
My mom was an Olympic swim team qualifier, dad was a Naval Fighter Pilot, on grandfather was a Nuclear Physicist ( DK Winslow if you desire to read the research papers), the other is Bob Buckles, a notable too, it goes all the way back to the Mayflower and then to 432 BC King of the Commerians and includes nearly all the Kings and Queens of Europe. I have a reasonably high IQ and use all of it, I always use the whole track.
Previously, I was a young entrepreneur (age 12), athlete (track star), raced motorcycle street bikes, became a pilot, Franchisor (Car Wash Business) and was heavily involved in community politics and volunteerism at the local level before that. Today, I am learning how to be a writer (12,000 articles online) and writing 100 eBooks in the next 18 months, so far I have 10% completed and I have completed traveling to every single city in America over ten thousand people, yes including yours. Oh yes, and I run a Think Tank Online now, which is my latest new project.
Therefore, I guess a psychologist would say I am an "over achiever," but now it has simply become second nature to me and I am 40 years old and semi-retired and I am thoroughly enjoying my life experience. I guess that sums it up in a nut shell, I believe these talents to be 80% nurture (experience, observations, education, creating myself) and 20% nature-genetics, whereas you might attribute your talents to the hand of god, but I believe that is what makes us all different and that is a very good thing for America. I just like to win, I think it is a fun challenge.
Now then to simply take an individual which is a complex compilation of all their experiences, genetics, education, observations, knowledge, talents and a blend of their immersed culture and stereotype them into a single category is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard, what say you?
L. Winslow is an Economic Advisor to the Online Think Tank, a Futurist and retired entrepreneur http://www.worldthinktank.net
Currently he is planning a bicycle ride across the US to raise money for charity and is sponsored by http://www.Calling-Plans.com and all the proceeds will go to various charities who sign up.
